frequently asked questions

How long will it take to get my site online?

In most cases, the time it takes you to populate the site with your artwork, events, artists, and other information will be longer than the time it takes us to design and enable the site.
Fortunately, the two can proceed at the same time, so the turnaround time is greatly reduced. We've had sites up in less than a week. Typically, it takes two or three weeks to fully build a site.
For our part, we can give you access to the admin panel the same day that you sign up and submit payment.

I already use a database to manage my artwork. Can we use that?

Our databases are proprietary and optimized for displaying artwork on the web. So the short answer is no.
But although we can't use the same database you use, we can use the information within it to help you quickly build your site and populate it with the information that you've already entered.
We're big fans of optimizing and reducing effort. We'll assist however we can.

How quickly can I add artwork to the site?

If your images are ready, you can usually add artwork in around 2 minutes.

I don't know HTML.

No problem. You won't see any, nor will you have a need to.

What if I want to change the look of my after a year or two?

The look of the site is distinct from the way it works. What that means is that we can very quickly apply a design change to the site without affecting the underpinnings of it at all.

I can't afford an advanced site now. What if I want to upgrade in the future?

We offer an upgrade path so that you only pay for the features that you need, and when your needs increase, you can take advantage of the additional power and features that our advanced sites include.
One way is to purchase features that are optional for your site level. When the need warrants, move up a level. The information you enter will translate directly across into a new level of service.

What if I want to add a Flash introduction or animations?

This also isn't a problem. It will usually require a fee to develop the animation or to incorporate an existing one. The real questions are what will it add? and which viewers will it exclude? We're not fans of technology for its own sake; but if it makes sense, then we're all for it.

Can I optimize my site for search engines?

Yes. It's all built in. You can add or edit information that is used by search engines when they index sites so that you can increase your ranking. Some examples include: page titles, page descriptions, and page keywords.
You can also create links to as many other related sites; links now account for a significant portion of the ranking score that Google uses.
If you need help, we can refer you to a specialist who can help you optimize your site for search engines.
